THE year 2016 has been proclaimed the Year of the Eucharist and the Family by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines. The theme is part of the nine year spiritual journey that began with the Year of Faith, where we experienced an authentic renewal of faith guided by the new evangelization principles.
The Holy Eucharist, which means thanksgiving, invites families of the Catholic faithful to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, to receive His body and blood in the Holy Communion and to celebrate His victory over death. read more »

Bro. Nazario started his service to the Knights of Columbus in 1992 as a College Knight of U.P. in the Visayas College Council No. 10095. He carried on his fraternal services and became Grand Knight, State College Councils Chairperson, and State Youth Director (2005-2006), State Program Director (2006-2007), District Deputy (2009-2011), and Visayas State Secretary (2011-2015). As a State Council Officer, he was appointed the Chairman-Secretariat of the Visayas State Convention in 2013 and 2014. Sir Knight Rene V. Sarmiento was admitted to the First Degree in 1986. He was District Deputy of M-44 (CY 2000-2001, CY 2001-2002). As District Deputy, he undertook numerous projects that included the holding of “Clergy Night” to honor Chaplains and Parish Priests and organizing “Lift High the Cross of Christ” Awards to give tribute to outstanding brother knights of Councils constituting the District. The Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines, Inc. (KCFAPI) will hold a weeklong celebration to mark its 57th founding anniversary from September 6 to 14.
Various activities are expected to fill the week at the KCFAPI’s main office. The celebration will begin with the KCFAPI Annual Fun Run on September 6 dubbed as The Great Walled City Run 2015.
A Eucharistic celebration will be offered on the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady on September 8 where a Marian Exhibit will likewise be showcased. Other activities lined up for the week are as follows: September 9 – TV Mass at the San Agustin Church to commemorate the 38th death anniversary of the Knights of Columbus local founder, Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ and to celebrate the 57th Founding Anniversary of the KCFAPI. read more »
